Our Story
Shitokai Karatedo International - India was founded with a mission to preserve and promote authentic Shito-Ryu karate across India. Under the expert guidance of Hanshi Velayudan Sasidharan, we have grown from a small dojo in Nagercoil to a pan-India network of over 50 training centers.
Our organization is dedicated to developing traditional Shitoryu Karate-do and Sports Karate, maintaining direct lineage from the Mabuni family and affiliation with the World Shitoryu Karatedo Federation (WSKF) through the All India Shitoryu Karatedo Union (AISKU) following WSKF shitokai syllabus.
With nearly 50 years of experience, we remain committed to providing quality instruction and fostering the physical, mental, and spiritual development of our members.

Hanshi Velayudan Sasidharan
8th Dan Black Belt | Founder & Chief Instructor
Born on May 16, 1951 in Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu, Hanshi Sasidharan has dedicated nearly 50 years to the practice and teaching of Shito-Ryu karate.
He has traveled extensively to countries including Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Hong Kong, Nepal, and Sri Lanka to learn and teach karate.
Hanshi Sasidharan holds one of the highest rank in India, having received certifications from multiple prestigious organizations including direct recognition from the Mabuni family.
